Antibiotics & Hormones Free Standard
Meet the needs of conscious consumers with milk that’s 100% free from artificial growth hormones and antibiotics.

Synlait products are made from high-quality milk produced by cows that are completely free from artificial growth hormone treatments and residual antibiotics – two important points of product differentiation in the global marketplace.

No rBST, No rBGH

In New Zealand, the use of the animal growth hormones rBST and rBGH is prohibited in dairy farming.

This means all Synlait milk is produced by cows raised without any use of the artificial growth hormones sometimes used to boost productivity in other countries,[1] and which are known to increase the risk of mastitis in cows, a leading cause of cow mortality internationally.

Antibiotic Free

For our farmer suppliers, animal health and wellbeing are paramount, which means antibiotics are an essential veterinary tool for combating illness. However, when antibiotics are used all our farmer suppliers undertake rigorous measures to ensure no antibiotic traces reach the collected milk supply.

Practically, this means any animal treated with antibiotics is segregated from the herd and their milk withheld from supply – steps backed up with rigorous testing to ensure the milk supply is absolutely antibiotic free.

Grass Fed Milk Tailored
Add value to products with the proven benefits of grass fed milk. 

At Synlait, we know that exceptional, nutrient-rich ingredients are the result of exceptional farming practices and healthy herds. Our Third Party* certified Grass Fed milk supply is produced by cows that roam on open-air pastures, cared for by farmer suppliers who are committed to their wellbeing.

Grass fed herds feed on high-quality grasses and produce milk with a unique nutritional composition when compared to mixed ration or grain based feed systems. 

The benefits to health and wellbeing include:

  •  A better balance of heart-healthy omega-3 and omega 6 fatty acids, with more heart-healthy alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)
  • 2-5 times the levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which is thought to help regulate immune function, maintain cardiovascular health and provide anti-inflammatory properties
  • Higher levels of beta-carotene – an antioxidant and source of vitamin A that is important for a healthy immune system and eye and skin health
  • Higher levels of vitamin B2, which is known to help reduce tiredness and fatigue.
